    Profiles - Right Bank

On the Right Bank, as is true with Graves and Pessac Léognan, wine has been produced since the Roman times, for almost 2,000 years. The chateaux here have an average size of under 10 hectares (in Pomerol, they barely make it above an average of two hectares), a mosaic of small holdings that have been passed through families over the generations. So you’re more likely in these regions to be standing in front of smart country manors, or even smaller non descript houses, that were built with the intention of families living in them, not to entertain shareholders and clients.

If you have a spare afternoon on the Right Bank, try driving around looking for Le Pin, one of the most iconic names in Pomerol that comes complete with little more than a chalet.
